Bio
Felix Pestemer (born in Braunschweig in 1974) studied fine art at the Berlin University of the Arts and illustration at the Escola Massana in Barcelona. Since then, he has been working at the intersection of both disciplines: comics and stories in book format form a fluid transition to narrative graphic series. His first graphic novel, Der Staub der Ahnen (The Dust of the Ancestors, 2012), was nominated for the Max und Moritz Award and is based on a one-year DAAD research stay in Mexico. The albums “In the Eye of the Beholder – A Tour of the Old National Gallery” (2019) and “Alles bleibt anders – Das Konzerthaus Berlin und seine Geschichte(n)” (Everything Remains Different – The Berlin Concert Hall and its History/Stories, 2021) are dedicated to the urban and cultural history of his adopted home, Berlin. Since 2023, Pestemer has been developing climate protection comics in cooperation with experts.
