In January 2024, the comic project \u201cHow are you?\u201d was launched by a group of comic authors in cooperation with the Kulturamt Erlangen and Goethe Universit\u00e4t Frankfurt. \u201cHow are you?\u201d was a reaction to the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 and the subsequent military strikes by Israel on Gaza, the West Bank and neighboring countries. While the political situation has once again entered a seemingly irresolvable spiral of escalation, the comic project aims to keep the conversation going, build bridges, focus on personal fates and give them a face – using the very tools that comic artists have at their disposal. To this end, interview tandems of affected people of Israeli and Palestinian origin team up with graphic artists. These interviews then form the basis for the short comics.<\/p>\n
I had the honor of entering into dialogue with Nazih Musharbash, President of the German-Palestinian Society, whose entire life and work has been shaped by the Middle East conflict.
