The authors of this new generation tell political as well as personal stories, develop innovative pictorial languages, and reveal what comics are today: an exciting medium of literary quality. Since 2001, the publishing house avant-verlag has been offering comic books and graphic novels for readers and connoisseurs of modern graphics and art.

On this unusual anniversary – the 11th second of the 11th day of the 11th year – avant-verlag has gathered together the German-language artists of its publishing history for a comprehensive exhibition that not only reflects the history of the publishing house but also presents the creative potential, the narrative scope, and the artistic ambitions of the German-language comics scene. From 11 January to 2 February 2013, 18 artists will be exhibiting comic illustrations, art pieces, installations and other works that straddle the fence between narrative and fine art. The exhibition will be accompanied by numerous readings, discussions, performances and tours.

The artists of avant-verlag would like to invite you to the exhibition opening on 11 January 2013 at 7 PM at Galerie Neurotitan in the Haus Schwarzenberg. When the gallery doors open, the participating artists will lead you through their pictorial worlds.
